There is no truly sun-tolerant hosta (most prefer at least some shade during the day), but there are some varieties that can stand a certain amount of sunlight. Foxfire Botanical Gardens offers many sun-tolerant hostas that can work well in gardens that get some direct sun. These plants may require extra watering to keep them looking good and mulch around the roots can help.
